I frequently hear from channeled beings about the importance of raising our frequency and vibration. This is often connected to our mental and emotional states - with gratitude and happiness described as 'higher vibrations' compared to fear and anxiety. On a practical level, I agree with working to shift from fear-based to love-oriented states. However, physicist in me finds this terminology problematic, particularly the use of words 'frequency' and 'vibration'.

In physics, these terms have specific meanings - frequency measures vibration in cycles per second. Moreover, vibration requires a medium or field - it could be matter (like air or water), electromagnetic fields (as in light and radio waves), or various quantum fields (electron, muon, quark fields, etc.), where vibrations represent probabilistic mathematical expressions rather than classical waves.

My question is: When we talk about raising our frequency, what exactly is vibrating? What are the different frequencies associated with different states? How can these be measured?

While I'm open to accepting these terms as metaphors and it is totaly fine, I recently encountered Bashar mentioning 144,000 Hz as a specific threshold between positive and negative orientation. This raises the question again - what precisely is vibrating at this frequency?
