Ascending vs "Bipolar Disorder"

How does the GFL explain the difference between the process of ascending (i.e., being flooded with light and feeling super high vibrational, inspired, etc and then experiencing the more heavy integration period) and what the mainstream calls "bipolar disorder" which looks and feels similar?
