What was the original purpose of the EGO? Could it be a hidden navigation tool within us?
I recently had a download that the Ego wasn't meant to be a negative thing within our system. That is was actually meant to be a neutral component that we could use as a tool for navigating within our own systems. Kind of like the Queen in chess. Can move in all directions, has access to every part of every body we possess. (Physical, mental, emotional, etc....), and can travel between all planes of existence, within our own created realities that is. I mean it even contains the word "GO" in it. I'm curious if our ego doesn't actually hold the key to everything we seek? Why wouldn't you hide the key to your every success, inside the one place nobody would think to look? I mean, we've been told it's a bad thing, and we should remove it. But I don't ever do as I'm told....lol So I humbly ask......What REALLY, is Ego? Was hoping the GFL could elaborate more on this very unique and powerful aspect of us. And again, thank you Elizabeth, for all the time and energy you have put, and continue to put into helping others. You've truly embraced the meaning of friendship and what it means to be of service to others:)
@lastphoenixstar the on-going infinite cycle of consciousness is to eventually re-merge, and then split off. This has happened countless times before, and will continue. All separate consciousnesses "egos" eventually, all return back to source. Everything is "one" as source. Then source gets bored! The "ego" is a totally different experience than everything being one with source. That's why aspects of source initially had the desire to "split off" into separate consciousnesses ("egos") and manifest physical reality as a tool to create, explore, and "have fun" with.
The ancients called this cycle "The breath of Brahma"!
@lastphoenixstar I also received something similar about 2 years ago - that it wasnt so much about killing the ego but learning to have a healthy relationship with it ? Thats it does have a purpose to protect us (the human psyche ) then one day I observed it triggered to action telling me a false narrative during some shadow work and saw myself looking up and thanking it for just trying to protect me but to step the f back I got this one lol and it did - so what if we could have a healthy relationship by simply living as the observer - accepting it as a part of the whole of us
@michael-in-nh Yes, but that still brings me back to my question. How can we know for sure that what we've read/been taught, is in fact TRUTH? I've read up on "egos" and "ego." We live in a world where sacred truth has been removed and replaced with information that persuades us to believe the narrative that's given. Just think about it. Our ego is insidious. It can rear itself up at any moment in any given thought or experience. Maybe it's the tool that unburies the shit we tend to ignore or not give attention to, rather than be the reason for it. Because you would think that if ego were a separate thing from all that is, like you're saying, then there would be more references to its origin than just the one. Ego is not the self. It is not the shadow self, and it's not an entity of itself. We all have one, and the energy of each of our ego's is the same frequency.....to sabotage your highest potential. So what IS IT? Would you consider "ego" a program? Would you consider it to be of "LIGHT." We all battle it consistently, and your WILL must overcome it within the solar plexus, otherwise you can never reach the Heart chakra of Compassion. Its opposing force is WILL. We all have a Will as well. What do you consider your WILL to be? And why do we speak of them as being separate from each other? Aren't they the same thing?
@lastphoenixstar we can't know anything for sure, except for the fact that we exist. "I think, therefore, I am". I can't even be 100% positive that WWII occurred.
How do you make a SIMPLE game IMPOSSIBLE to Solve?
By changing jut ONE word.
We Changed Words in y'all to make the SIMPLE game more Challenging.
Change the CHALLENGING word "EGO" to tbe SIMPLE word "ARROGANCE"
Words are Keys that Unlock Realities in your Minds.
Now that you have the Key.., do you have the Will to Win. Do you have the Will to do Shadow Work?
Or Will you Will "Arrogance"?
@lastphoenixstar Not sure, dear phoenixstar, that I will add any further great enlightenment to a good question about "ego".
Speaking for self, I have come to understand ego as a necessary component of motivating, encouraging, and pushing me to move forward. In fact, it's ego that gets me out of bed in the morning to tackle and address the day with more vigor. It's ego that is reaching out with drive, passion, genuine care, thought, empathy and love for others.
Now, the other side of ego, which calls for me to be more careful controlled and vigilant, is when it is part of the negative - being arrogant, a show-off, overbearing, disrespectful of other's opinions, the "only voice in the room" and not listening. It also has the component of "false humility", appearing to be humble and "conceding" but actually using it as a way of attracting more attention to self.
In short, the positive ego is constructive and loving. When it's is all about self, and little or no care for others, lacking compassion, one can be pretty sure that negative ego is at play.
