Standing Up for Yourself in the midst of Whistleblower Retaliation by the Corrupt
I became the target of years of abuse by the government of Philadelphia when the city dug up a contaminated site next to my home, and I was poisoned by lead and mercury. I started to report the problems, thinking they would want to know and would do something to create more safety for the neighborhood. I was naive about the level of government corruption but soon started to find out. I began to collect more and more evidence of the issues, and as I investigated, more and more corruption surfaced. I was essentially homeless for over 6 years due to the health hazards and 3 doctors insisting I be removed from the house. But everything I said, reported, and proved by evidence was ignored. By the time I left and moved across to the other side of the country, 7 people had died because they never listened to the information I gave the city. I ended up in the hospital many times due to the heavy metal illness and severe PTSD caused by the relentless crimes done to me.
I would love to be able to stand in court and successfully expose these crimes because it seems to be the only way to clean up the government that hurts so many people. But the courts are deeply corrupt as well. My life is starting to balance out now after many years of recovery and rebuilding a new home base, but I can't help but feel this would not have happened to me if I was not supposed to do something to help clean up the mess. So many people and generations of people have been harmed by government corruption.
Throughout the years, I have met many other everyday citizens and whistleblowers. They are not part of big corporations, the military, or anything glamorous. Every day, people who do something wrong happen to them, and they feel the moral duty to point it out and say that it is wrong to save others from being hurt. They collect evidence and do everything humanly possible to correct the problems—to no avail.
The only thing they get is illness, loss of homes and jobs and family, and often suicide and jail. I have met several women who have been thrown in mental hospitals, and then their civil rights are gone. It is most common for the men to be beaten up and jailed and for the women to be put in mental hospitals and drugged to keep them quiet. Some are killed. They tried several times to put me in the mental hospital, but I have very good intuition and would leave town and move around a lot to where they could not find me. I also have a psychology and natural health background and knew the law, so that saved me.
This has been going on for many years now, and I watch more and more people get hurt. But I am very scared to speak out anymore and especially afraid to try to go to court. Nobody ever helped me, and I gave up on help and have hidden away as a hermit for many years now. Many people I have evidence of for their crimes have climbed up to prominent government positions.
I don't know the right thing to do. I have to do something to do my part in stopping more people from getting hurt. They used my work as an intuitive and energy healer against me as proof that I should be locked up in a mental hospital. So I have also been very scared to resume my work as a reader and healer.
I'd appreciate it if anyone could tune into what I should do. I have thought that writing a book about it is the best path. I have written a lot about it but have been so PTSD about the whole thing that I often freak out and can't focus when I try to write about it.
I toyed with the idea of getting a lawyer, but the situation is so polarizing politically that I doubt I can find one. Even if I did, the courts are largely corrupt these days, and they would abuse me even further.
But I do not know how to remedy this situation or live with myself if I sweep it under the rug and more people are harmed.
I have heard Elizabeth April and many others talk about how important it is for people to stand up and tell their truth these days, but I am terrified.
I am such an RFK Jr fan. He has been an extremely successful environmental lawyer. it sounds to me like you're feeling very alone. I'd love for you to start listening to his interviews which are extremely hopeful and uplifting in my mind. He is brilliant, authentic, and tells the truth. perhaps by connecting to his campaign they could send you in the right direction for the help you need. or you could contact the Children's Health Defense who also might be able to point you in the direction for how to decide your next step. bless you!
I'm so sorry to learn of your difficulty in this situation. I live about an hour from Philly and understand the corruption there all too well. It stretches out across our state unfortunately all the way to small local towns. I'm fighting a chemical spill in the creek next to my house. A truckload of Round-up spilled into the creek and all I get is " well at least it was only round up " ?????? And they're serious!
You're in a much denser population in the city. Have you thought of Erin Brockovitch? She's still in the environmental fight. I know she's involved in the Ohio train derailment. Perhaps you could get some direction through her organization?
My prayers to you 🙏
@maggieanne Sorry to hear this! Sending you so much love❤️
@fayedollar Thank you for your battle for the Earth. The legal and government system is so corrupt. I can't deal with it anymore. I moved away. I have been writing a book about what happened and what I learned. I feel that is the best way for me to handle the situation for myself and the public. I have come to know others in PA and elsewhere who have been truly harmed by the corruption of the system, including the harm to the earth but also other issues where people and society get hurt. I have been in the hospital many times due to the harm and crimes done. Erin Brockovich did send me a referral to a law firm once, but they and she only have time for more massive pollution events, and so much of this is the government and justice corruption, which is so massive and difficult to deal with. So, I think the best way to do good is to finish this book. The book speaks to the "everyday" whistleblower who struggles so much to bring out a truth and is often utterly destroyed by the system. Thank you for your work.
@suecockrell Thank you. During the middle of all this, RFK gave a talk and held a dinner/ party in Philadelphia about environmental water issues. All the political people of Philadelphia were there, and one of them even called me as he was living the event to tell me. He said I would have really liked it. I had to return to my house that day to fetch clothes and items. I was choking on the vapors in the air and very sick, and all these political people were at a party about water pollution. They all knew what was happening to me but didn't care. RFK was just another expensive political event that made it look like they were doing something. They were not in the trenches or even doing their jobs as public servants. Over the years, I have attended many EPA and Brownfield 2- and 3-day events on these topics. I learned a lot, but I also learned that corruption in the system only has these studies and events to get government money and increase their jobs. They never actually do anything. I know RFK has good intentions and is spreading information, but the system is so corrupt that they do not care, and nobody will help me or the 1000s of others. Even Jill Stein is a political animal when it comes down to it. I collected so much evidence to stop these crimes and put the political people in jail, yet when Jill Stein came to Philadelphia, she sat in a bank with a protest sign, and all the "progressives" were protesting and camping out during Occupy, and I would go to them and say " Hey, wouldn't you like to get the people you are protesting arrested instead of you getting arrested?' No, they didn't. They would rather make a show of getting arrested for holding up signs and chanting about environmental issues instead of actually stopping the environmental crimes and getting the people responsible arrested. I met 100s of regular everyday citizens who, like me, collected the evidence on the crimes and issues they were closing the whistle on. Neighbors and activists would not help because the cost and abuses done to a real whistleblower are too great and even deadly. Politicians and government agencies do not help. I know RFK has good intentions, too, and part of his mission is to educate. I could write him, but I am too weak and ill now to fight more. I am writing a book now for all the regular everyday people whose lives are destroyed by corrupt politics.
@maggieanne I appreciate your taking your own time to compose your message. Looks like you went through a lot. I think there are a lot of people who are in the position of whistle blowers. And there will probably be many more whistle blowers in the future. I would love to hear more about this topic. I would love to hear input from Elizabeth.
