Solar eclipse in April
There seems to be a lot of fear mongering going on regarding the eclipse in April. Schools closing, news outlets telling everyone to get groceries earlier etc.. is there more going on that day then just an eclipse?
I don't think the closing of schools has anything to do with fear. I believe the school boards know that many people will take that day off and take their kids out of school to witness the event. Also, with many people traveling from across the country, shipments to stores may be delayed due to the increased traffic. Stores near the path of totality may see an increase in customers. They may be warning the locals to get their groceries before the tourists arrive.
I have a question related to the eclipse, too. The Paths of Totality from this eclipse and the eclipse from 2017 make a big X across the US. The paths cross at the New Madrid Fault. Will this affect the fault? If yes, how and when?
I would like more information about this too! Great question.
