I understand how you say we should not try and control things because it's only feeding the anxiety, but the bit that I'm really struggling with is, how far do you let the situation that frustrates you go? If I should let it go, that my house mate tips food scraps down the sink, does that mean its ok if they tip a whole cup of scraps down too? Like where do you draw the line between what you should let go and what you should actually speak up for, especially when you believe that what they're doing is detrimental and you have a better solution? I guess what I'm trying to say is why isn't it ok to ask them not to leave rings on the coffee table or stack the dishwasher a better way? Am I just way too much of a perfectionist?

Very familiar question for ppl with children. Guess you should ask them a few times to behave, no harm done. But if they don't comply, then ask yourself what costs more energy. Acceptance en fixing these 3D works yourself, or, constant annoyance and frustration. Choose your battle.
