Western Self-Worth and Eastern Selflessness
Hello everyone! Here are two articles about the link between neuroscience and the self:
Which article do you resonate with the most?
To Self or Not to Self?
What is self? Is it merely ego or is it the All? What is consciousness if there is no self? What is self-worth, self-care, self-concept, insight, intuition, instinct, emotion, self-awareness, and self-esteem if there is no self? What are memories if there is no self? Where does past, present, future, infinity, and eternity start and end if there is no self? All the same questions apply to if there is a self. What is the subconscious if there is or isn’t a self? Is the unconscious or subconscious nothingness itself or the lack of self? What is collective consciousness if no one has a self? Is the collective merely a projection of the two hemispheres and connection of the hemispheres of the brain? What is the projection of the collective relationship of the brain and heart? Is it a coincidence that there is Western Science and Eastern Philosophy? How about the crossover of connections in the body pertaining to the left and right hemispheres of the brain to the collective of the human race? Would atoms, waves, energy, and the quantum field simply prove that there is no self? That being said, would our true underlying base, nature of existence have a self? Does an electron, quark, or neutron have a self? Does the All have a self? Does matter have a self? Is everything nothing and is nothing everything in the sense that ideas about everything come from nothing, silence, or selflessness and nothingness or the lack of self can pertain to everything? What is helplessness and hopelessness if there is or isn’t a self? What is government if there is no self to rule? What is money if there is no self? What is ego if there is no self? What is separation from Source if there is no self? What is nirvana, heaven and hell if there is no self? What is unity and duality if there is no self? Does the illusionary essence of matter make up the illusion of self or visa versa? What is real if there is no self? Is truth the lack of self? If there is a self, then what is truth and reality?
Aside from what science and philosophy imply about the existence of self, here are a few examples of the worthiness of the individual self and the collective self:
• love
• humility
• care
• forgiveness
• joy
• peace
• courage
• strength
• growth
• space
• freedom
• respect
• faith
• safety
• trust
• gratitude
What are you and our fellow people worthy of receiving and being? What are your needs? What does the collective value?
