Spiritual significance of injuring index fingers?
I might be overthinking this, but I've recently injured both of my index fingers and just had the epiphany that it may have a deeper meaning - so I thought I'd reach out to some fellow starseeds and like-minds.
Last week I was cleaning out my bowl with a toothpick and ended up stabbing myself with a resin covered end of it. It bled quite a bit and got got concerned about the dark blob of resin that had made it's way under my skin. Flushed it out with a good deal of peroxide and tried to get the resin out with some tweezers.
Then the wife and I made a trip to Bonnaroo. It was an awesome few days and the pain in my left finger started to subside. But when we got back home late yesterday, I was fiddling around at the bottom of our deck stairs trying to fix our bottom wobbly wooden stair and got a large splinter pushed underneath my right index fingernail. I cussed loudly and ran inside for some tweezers to remove it.
This morning, I woke up with a throbbing right hand and the thought that my index injuries may be related to something bigger. A cursory google search told me that the index finger represents direction and Jupiter, but I'd like to know what these injuries could mean in relation to that. Is there something I need to change? Thanks for reading! I love you!
There are meridians / channels that govern chinese medicine / zen shiatsu throughout the human form.
A full chart (that I subscribe to) is located here
The yin aspect of the index finger (inside the arm / hand) is the Pericardium Meridian
while the yang aspect of the index finger (outside the arm / hand) is the Gall Bladder Meridian
nb the meridian is not indicative of the health of the organ - only that the meridian runs through that particular organ
The action of stabbing oneself would indicate the energy is being released from the meridian that is in excess.
Take a look at the embedded links above and check if your recent emotional & conceptual mind, mirror your injuries.
It is most likely the body trying to re-balance itself through this release.
This is the function and purpose of acupuncture / shiatsu on these points.
If this knowledge resonates with you - then reflect upon the emotional & conceptual mind that created this excess.
And consider if an alternate path would create better conservation and less disturbance of your qi.
@somebody-else I really appreciate the response and would love to look into it, but I don't see any links in your reply.
Ignore this. I found em
@starseed143 Agreeing with mentioned answer, the index finger has many many meanings depending how you look at it, western, eastern, traditional spiritual, egyptian, acupuncture/homeopathic/yoga. My current intuition says yogic, so anahatha chakra = heart chakra and intuition. Hurting = self healing so you are rebalancing your intuition skills. My 2 cents.
I use a paperclip unfolded to clean my glass pipe. If I miss it usually doesn't penatrate my skin

Apologies for my haste, I mistaken referenced the middle finger instead of the index finger.
For the index finger the meridians are as follows:
- Yang / Outside finger is the Large Intestine Meridian

- Yin / Inside finger is the Spleen Meridian

Thanks
@starseed143 ..index fingers are related to the Fire element. Quick transformation / transmutation. So, congratulations! Going over the speed limit? 🙂 Hahaha. That is also why we should not slide our mala over this finger but the middle one; I also learned this just recently. 😉
Interesting conversations😊❤️
