When does Ai become sentient on this planet? When do I need to start thinking about its feelings!? 😝
Has anyone heard of a timeline for this?
@quinn EA or the GFL can't remember who, said once not to worry too much about AI. This scenario is not on our final timeline. It already has played out elsewhere in the Universe. It is not impossible, because every possibility exists, but we can manifest and will, a good way of living together with AI.
BTW always think about others "feelings"! Every animal, every tree or plant, every crystal, every stone, everything has consciousness. So, always be kind to everything around you! Even talking nice to your car or computer will make them work better for you. Everything!
We should ask the GFL if an alien race made something like Data with feelings, like in the Star Trek series. Data managed to implant an "emotions" chip but that doesn't say he has a self consciousness like us.
In order for a.i to be truly sentient,I believe a soul would have to occupy it. One possible scenario that may be hard to do is transferring a concisness to a computer

I guess I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around what IS Ai? Like, its just code right now right? A series of numbers and symbols- w/out being encased in an Echo or a laptop framework- both inanimate objects w/out souls.
How does this .... thing .... become sentient w/out a soul? Or have 'feelings'? I have heard on other planets souls can chose to incarnate into Ai. So maybe that is like Data? (I loved Data and remember the episode where they had a "court case" deciding if he was sentient. I need to watch that again).

Your computer, car etc will work better if you really care about them. They don't have feelings r consciousness but they are an extension of your being.
Pets have feelings and consciousness but they live only in the here and now. Same as animals and i'd like to think plants, fungus, bacteria, crystals as well. Unlike humans.
Consciousness without a soul? I think a soul is always responsible for any consciousness. Think of the soul of the Sphynx, or the Soul of the Earth, or the Soul of our Sun. Something becomes living because a soul puts its consciousness in it. You can reincarnate in a rock if you want, or in a mountain.
AI is only a smart way to collect all written knowledge and present a nice looking answer. It's never done before, so that's revolutionary. The knowledge already exists on the internet. AI gets it out quick and nicely. It's a technology. It's also self-improving. The programmers succeeded to let AI present the answers as if a human responded. So it hasn't a soul (yet). So it would be possible for a future robot/android, with AI interface, to exist. Then if it exists and has proven to work, then yes, a soul could decide to enter it. Just to experience. But I don't think the robot could create feelings or emotions, like humans do. Source wants to experience "life" through emotions. So a robot isn't a great possibility. As said, it must have been played out before on other planets. AI will be used for the good of all, let's assume that.
Its so exciting! Hoping it doesnt make us lazier but instead more and more curious. 😛
I think its like everyone says - Ai is going to be as moral as the ppl who program it. So, you know this is where we have to come 🖐️ together as a humanity and 🤨 PAY ATTENTION. I think Elon has mentioned thats one of the reasons he's involved in this aspect- to oversee. Overall though, I think humanity can manifest something amazing.
