How to discern between truth and tricks

With disclosures and other imminent leaks we expect to occur, how can we ordinary people of Earth figure out whether the information given to us is from a valid and truthful source or if it’s coming from an angle that’s meant to trick and manipulate us? I’ve heard of a trixster type of intelligence outside our dimension that’s had a hand in manipulating our reality. Not that it matters since we can’t do anything about it but still. How do you know what to believe?
