This activity is designed to help you process and reflect on your Cord Cutting Ceremony experience.
Follow these steps to complete the activity:
-
After completing the Cord Cutting Ceremony, take a moment to reflect on your experience.
-
Think about how your letter burned during the ceremony. Did it burn fast or slow? Did it produce lots of smoke or hardly any? Did the paper burn up completely and turn to ash or were there still pieces left over?
-
Reflect on how you felt during the process of burning the letter. Were you nervous, excited, or scared? How did your emotions change as the letter burned?
-
Write a short reflection on your experience in the Community Forum by replying to this post. Share your cord-cutting experience, describing how your letter burned and how you felt during and after the ceremony.
By sharing your reflections with others, it provides an opportunity for you to connect with others in the SHIFT Masterclass community and build a sense of shared experience and support.
My chord cutting experience played out better than I expected. I prepared a letter that expressed emotions
I have felt for a long time, did my ceremonial part and burned my letter. The letter burned fast with very little
smoke, burning the entire letter. The feeling I had during was hopeful, happy and afterwards I felt calm, content.
I performed a cord cutting & burned their names in a quick even fire with little smoke but lots of ash. Ego death stuff has been extensive. Got divorced in 2019, then the scamdemic, then retired in 2022. Losing my labels & what is not doesn’t serve me.✌️🌹. I feel kinda numb.
I decided not to burn the letter I wrote because the letter contained a deeper connection to my emotions related to my father. I have burned cord cutting letters I wrote to him in the past, but this one is different and I am not ready to burn it yet.
